Peels can improve the skins overall appearance. In this treatment, a chemical solution is applied to the skin, which unglues the top layer of dead skin, which results in new fresh skin giving your clients smoother, less flawed glowing skin. The new skin is usually smoother and less wrinkled than the old skin. Peels are made up of fruit acids or milk derived normally.
As beauty therapists we can’t use over a certain % of peels usually no more than 30, 40 or 50%. Your insurance will guide you to the % you can use. I currently use no higher than 40% but please double check your insurance requirements. This is a generic peel course and not specific to any one brand.
Doctors and dermatologists can use a higher % these medical peels require downtime, whereby the client’s skin will actually blister, turn brown then peel off. Our peels just don’t do that but research has found that using our grade peels is equal in benefits if just a course is undertaken. i.e. 3 peels at recommended intervals at 40% will do just as good a job as the doctor’s peel, with no downtime and a fraction of the price. Which also minimises clients getting infections and so forth.
